7 things you might not know about me

I've been tagged by lu over at the things i know.
So, here are 7 things you may not know about me (though i can't guarantee it). If I tag you at the end, I guess I'm interested in learning 7 new things about you!

1. I'm actually a big fan of the colour pink.

2. Even though I know I exercise regularly and am in better shape than I've ever been (and better shape than a good percentage of people), I often feel like a big slacker, a bit of a fake and think I should work harder.

3. I have a pickle finger puppet hanging in my office.

4. I've still never had a Big Mac (or an egg nog latte).

5. I've been following this season of "The Biggest Loser".

6. I have never seen The Godfather. (any of them)

7. I do not own a pair of nylons/pantyhose nor to I care to. (though i do need to buy a pair of tights...)

Oops, I forgot to tag. Kirsten, Heather, Linda, you're it.

On a different note, it is December 17th and the City of Ottawa has already gone through it's entire snow removal budget for the year. Wow. Way to be prepared.

great...more snow

So about two weeks ago, we got about 30cm of snow. In the last 24 hours or so, we've had about the same. Flights have been cancelled, it takes 3 hours to get a cab...The Ottawa Children's chior has even cancelled their performance at Dominion Chalmers United Church. Pretty crazy stuff.
Jordan's flight is supposed to leave at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. Lets hope things have cleared up enough so that his flight goes fine. At least he has a confirmed ticket...I sincerely hope that by the time I try to get out (Wednesday evening or Thursday morning), all flights are moving and anyone that had flights cancelled has managed to get out of town. This is a major drawback of the standby flying.

But, we'll try to stay warm and as dry as possible. Maybe we can even get some pictures of the snowbanks and drifts that are as tall as I am...

good times

Even though we are still in Ottawa, it really feels like Christmas. On the way to work this morning (via the lab to get some blood taken...ouch), I took a different bus and thus ended up going through a more residential area. I got to see Christmas lights, decorated lawns...there were icicles on lots of the all seemed so festive with the sun starting to rise and shine on the ice and snow.
My department's Christmas party was this afternoon, the full staff Christmas party is tomorrow night...and Kris and Lynn are coming up for the weekend.
Fun times.
Ahh the "holiday season". Good times.

On my way to work last week, I picked up a free paper to peruse on the bus. On the cover, was an ad for "Philthy McNasty's". Apparently, there are a few of them in a few cities and Ottawa is lucky enough to have a location. The ad was promoting a new year's eve party. For kids. They want you to bring your kids to a place called Philthy McNasty's. All I can think about is a little kid's voice saying "Muuum....what's a Philthy McNasty?"

*Upon further examination of the website, they also have a kid's club. Who knew that a place called Philthy McNasty's would be a family joint....

baking is christmas baking day...
although it can be a bit of a chore, i quite enjoy the christmas baking. i don't make anything TOO complicated, but what i do make, i enjoy. there is something about eating a cookie that you made (although there is also something about eating a cookie you didn't have to make...)

wow- practically 2 weeks until christmas. i can't wait.

i hate to be lame and talk about the weather

But we have had a LOT of snow in the last few days. 40cm I think. Some of the snow banks and drifts are about waist height and as a pedestrian and bus makes for some interesting walking and some almost dangerous bus embarking/disembarking.

In other news, I swear there is a homeless guy doing laundry in our laundry room. It is a guy I've never seen before and he was using garbage bags for his clothes. Whilst it would be nice to think that someone is helping out a person in need, our building has ONE washer and ONE dryer and I pay a monthly fee for their use.
