good news

Both Februarys I have spent in Ontario have been missing something: a holiday. The Family Day holiday has been around in Alberta for quite some time. I don't remember how long exactly, but as I'm pretty sure it was a Ralph thing, it was obviously within my lifetime (and I do remember when it didn't exist).

So, imagine my excitement when I read this headline: McGuinty renews promise of extra stat holiday. I knew he was re-elected for a reason.

Another holiday is always a good thing. Hope your feeling better now.

Family Day happened prior to Ralph. I forget the premier's name, but he was a former football player. The first family day was the time that CBC radio interviewed us as a different kind of family. You stayed upstairs - remember?

John Spittle was the interviewer.
